UPDATED! YLG Giving Back: Bentley Park Beautification
Volunteers will work with Blue Water Baltimore and Neighborspace Baltimore County to plant perennials and shrubs donated by the estate of Joanna Hastings-Kiessling; Joanna was a Master Naturalist who passed away this past winter. Volunteers will also help to remove weeds and invasive plants and remove trash in preparation for the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the park on June 9.
About the event:
We will be outdoors for the entire event and the organizational policy regarding their events is for them to work rain or shine (excluding lightning). Please wear labor appropriate clothing you don’t mind getting dirty and closed toed shoes. Tasks will include planting trees, weeding, crop removal, and more. After the event, we will reconvene at a bar for drinks.
Location: Bentley Park, 426 E Pennsylvania Avenue, Towson, MD
*Because of flooding issues in Powhatan Park, we need to move the location – we will now be working in Bentley Park in East Towson.
