Christine Espenshade joined Newmark Knight Frank in 2019 as a Vice Chairman in the company’s Washington, DC, office. She leads a team of 7 professionals focused on multifamily investment sales in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. A 20+ year multifamily real estate veteran, Christine has substantial expertise in the development of student, seniors and family housing; property management; construction management; accounting; valuation policy; and underwriting. She has managed the sale or recapitalization of more than $8 billion in multifamily investments throughout the U.S. Prior to Newmark Knight Frank, Christine co-led JLL’s national multifamily platform while also leading a Mid-Atlantic-based multifamily sales team. Prior to launching her career in investment sales, Christine held positions at Munimae, JPI and Archon Group. Christine earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the department of politics at Princeton University.

With twenty plus years working in the marketing, public relations and business development arenas, I have been privileged to represent a variety of companies. Today, as Principal and Director of Business Development for BCT Design Group, I work with a creative team dedicated to the built environment - both the design and sustainability of it. With a focus on retail-driven mixed use, we target development opportunities that emphasis mixed-use and often include retail, multifamily housing, senior housing, hospitality and workplace. In my role, I establish new relationships and maintain existing relationships, in addition to elevating our firm's market presence through participation in professional organizations, conferences and special events. I enjoy both the diversity and challenges inherent in this industry and the wonderful people with whom I work and have had the opportunity to meet. Actively involved in the Urban Land Institute (ULI), I serve as the Chair of Mission Advancement for ULI Baltimore and am a planning committee member for ULI Tampa Bay's Women's Leadership Initiative. I am also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and Pipeline, a group of female professionals working in the retail space. At home in Baltimore, I am proud to be a Trustee of the Maryland Zoo.
