    The 70,000-square-foot former St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church near Patterson Park was recently converted into a brew pub and apartment complex. This unique project transformed the 130-year-old granite church with its stately steeple into a dynamic, mixed-use urban space. Ministry of Brewing occupies the former main church building, while the 37-unit Ministry Lofts are spread across three buildings which formerly served as a rectory, school and theatre.

    Ministry of Brewing, scheduled to open in January 2020, features tables made from wood reclaimed within the church, as well as booth style seating made from former pews. The brewery features a 20 barrel brewhouse and 32 draft lines, and seeks to become a hub within the community for neighbors and visitors alike.
