Have questions about the 2022 Climate Solutions Now act and how it may affect your Maryland buildings (35,000 SF and larger)? We’re hosting a presentation and Q&A session with Ben Roush, PE, Chris Parts, AIA, and Lisa Ferretto, AIA, who were a key part of the AIA Maryland and USGBC Maryland Legislative push for the buildings portion of the bill. They will explain the bill requirements for buildings, talk about current and upcoming heating technology, take your questions, and talk about what future changes are possible.

    Speakers

    Benjamin Roush

    FSi consulting engineers

Ben Roush, PE-ME, FPE, LEED AP BD+C, CCP, ASHRAE BEMP and BEAP, CEPE In his 19 year career, Ben has earned an unusually wide variety of certifications, reflecting his unusually wide range of expertise. He is one of a small group of professionals in the United States licensed as mechanical and fire protection engineers, who are also Certified Commissioning Professionals. Ben holds LEED AP BD+C accreditation, and is the past co-chair of the Maryland Chapter of the US Green Building Council. He currently serves on the USGBC Energy and Atmosphere Technical Advisory Group and is the AIA Baltimore Committee on the Environment Co-chair. All of this combines to give him a wide lens through which to view his clients’ projects. With each project, Ben takes into account maintainability, industry best-practices, working within limited budgets, and looking for innovative ways to maximize sustainability. With appreciation to those who mentored him in the past, Ben pays it forward by mentoring FSi staff. He leads FSi’s teams that focus on energy code compliance, commissioning, LEED services, fire protection, energy modeling, acoustic modeling, and steam modeling. He shares his experience to help his co-workers broaden their own areas of expertise. Have an odd-ball question about an unusual system? Ask Ben. The rest of us at FSi do. He enjoys reciting verbatim from LEED rating systems or the mechanical, plumbing, energy, and fire protection codes, as well as finding just the right solution for one-off, unique systems.
