February 21, 2017– The ULI Baltimore Young Leaders Group hosted a construction tour of ZOM’s first Baltimore City project, the Banner Hill Apartments. Chris Love of ZOM provided a tour of the 349-unit Banner Hill Apartments project, currently under construction in Baltimore’s Otterbein neighborhood.
Love provided an overview of the interesting processes the developer has navigated to get the project completed, including demolishing a former hospital, expanding an existing underground parking garage and rebuilding a communal plaza above the garage. Love explained the importance of building relationships and formalizing agreements with the neighboring Christ Lutheran Church and Christ Church Apartments, including building dedicated parking in, and access to, the garage for church members.
Attendees were shown a model unit featuring high-quality finishes planned for the project and received an in-depth run-down of the planned amenities in the building from Hayman Elashry of RD Jones & Associates, the interior designer for the project.
The project is scheduled to be completed later this year and will bring new vitality to a site that has been vacant for several years.
After the tour, Young Leaders met at Noble’s Bar and Grill in the Federal Hill neighborhood for a networking happy hour.
