Hohm Highlandtown, a collaboration between Workshop Development, CLD Partners, and Old
Town Construction, is a newly built, 149-unit apartment building in one of Baltimore’s most
sought-after sub-markets. Designed to connect residents with the heart of the city and to embrace
all that Baltimore has to offer, Hohm is perfectly situated to allow residents access to
Highlandtown’s small businesses, emerging artists, and cultural institutions. Hohm is just
minutes away from major retail destinations such as Target, Harris Teeter, and Sprouts and a
short drive from Interstate 95 and Johns Hopkins Bayview, one of Maryland’s largest employers.
The idea for Hohm began in 2018 when CLD Partners discovered the old Epstein’s Department
Store for sale at 3905 Bank St. After placing the property under contract, CLD Partners met with
future partners Workshop Development and Old Town Construction to pitch the deal.
Recognizing the chance they had to create a product unavailable in Canton and new to
Highlandtown, the partners jumped at the opportunity and began moving the project forward. In
an effort to create a building fit for the urban environment, the development team hired an
emerging Baltimore-based architect, PI.KL Studio, to lead the design process. After completing
conceptual and schematic phases, the team settled on Hohm’s current design and site layout. The
project team advanced the plans to the construction phase and broke ground in March of 2021.
After 22 months of construction and $33,000,000 in spending, Hohm opened to the public in
January of 2023 and began accepting its first tenants. Hohm’s unique apartments offer a variety
of floor plans with high-end modern finishes and community amenities that elevate residents’
urban living experience. Of the 149 units, 115 are studio apartments, 17 are 1-bedrooms, 9 are 2-
bedrooms and 8 are co-living units. Rents are moderately priced for the area, starting at $1,325
for a 425 square foot studio and capping out at $4,695 for a fully-furnished 4-bedroom. Unique
community amenities include a Bluetooth enabled Latch keyless entry system, two elevators, a
fitness center, a resident lounge with complimentary Wi-Fi, bike storage, equipment lockers, and
a pet spa. In unit features include quartz countertops, stainless appliances, in-unit washers and
dryers, oversized windows and courtyard access.
Hohm’s current lease-up and management operations are being run by WPM Real Estate
Management. The building is leasing well and we are looking forward to welcoming other
Baltimoreans who are interested in finding a moderately priced and thoughtfully finished
apartment to call Hohm!
